Pier 2 Pool Open in Brooklyn Bridge Park

True to their word last December, the bureaucrats at Brooklyn Bridge Park did indeed open the very blue, very clean looking Pop-Up Pool at the uplands of Pier 2 on Friday. Measuring 50′ x 30′ x 3.5–about the size of your grandparents pool in their senior citizens community–it can hold about 60 people at a time, is just 3.5 feet deep, and has an adjoining beach area with concessions. The pool is open from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Mondays and Saturdays, and 11:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. all other days. Once you have one, you can go frolic in the sand or head somewhere else in the park to wait your turn.
